College Football Brasil Announces Postponement of 2026 Football Game in Brazil; NC State and Virginia Game Will Be Played Stateside

June 3, 2026 — Following extensive review with participating institutions, operational partners, and international stakeholders, the 2026 college football game between NC State and the University of Virginia, scheduled to take place in Rio De Janeiro on August 29th, will be relocated to the United States. The game will be played stateside. Please consult your University athletics website for the new schedule and time.

The decision comes after extensive evaluation of a number of evolving global factors. Stakeholder feedback, including concerns expressed by certain ticket purchasers regarding international travel and related conditions, was among numerous factors evaluated during the review process. 

Fans who purchased tickets or travel packages for the event through the official College Football Brasil website will receive refunds. Refund administration is being coordinated through applicable ticketing, payment processing, and event partners.

  • Will Brazil package and ticket holders receive refunds?

    Yes. Fans who purchased packages and tickets for the originally scheduled Brazil game through the official College Football Brasil website will be eligible for refunds due to the postponement of the event. Refund eligibility remains subject to applicable purchase terms, payment verification, and third-party processing requirements.

  • Do I need to request a refund?

    In most cases, no action will be required. Eligible package and ticket purchasers will receive direct communication with instructions and updates regarding the refund process.

  • How will refunds be issued?

    Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment used at the time of purchase whenever possible.

  • How long will refunds take?

    Refund processing timelines are estimates and may vary based upon financial institutions, international processing systems, and third-party vendors.  While no specific completion date can be guaranteed, refund processing is currently anticipated to occur over approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks, and purchasers will receive updates as additional information becomes available.

  • Why will the refund process take 6–8 weeks?

    This event involved international ticketing, travel coordination, and multiple payment processing systems. Additional time is required to reconcile transactions and ensure refunds are processed accurately and securely for all purchasers.

  • What if my original payment method is no longer active?

    Ticket holders who no longer have access to their original payment method will receive instructions from customer support regarding next steps.

  • Will travel expenses be reimbursed?

    At this time, the refund policy applies to eligible package and ticket purchases and deposits associated with the event, made on the official website: www.collegefootballbrasil.us. College Football Brasil and its authorized partners are not responsible for independent third-party travel arrangements or expenses incurred outside officially administered event packages. 

  • Will fans receive updates during the refund process?

    Yes, fans who have made purchases on the official College Football Brasil website will continue to be provided updates through official event communication channels as refunds are processed.

  • What if I have additional questions about my refund, who do I contact? 

    College Football Brasil  and its authorized ticketing and payment processing partners are coordinating the refund administration process.
